Good Times. Now.

While those three words floating above may seem simple and straightforward, I actually believe they sum up the majority of what most people are striving for. What do we want? Good times full of happiness, joy, passion, fulfillment, bliss, stoke, [insert your own word here]. When do we want it? Now!

Ok, great, so how do we get there? Well, I think we do it together, through partnership, conversation, and coaching.

We all envision "good times" a little differently. Here's the image that always comes to mind for me: surfing at sunset.

What is Coaching?

There are a lot of ways of defining coaching but here is how I look at it.

Partnership

I believe a coach should be a partner in your journey. Picture a path winding up a steep mountain. Some coaches would describe themselves as the wise sage sitting atop the mountain, waiting to dole out advice to you.

That’s not really my style. Instead, I’d rather link arms with you and navigate this mountain right beside you. That way, you won’t be alone when you hit difficult obstacles - I’ll be there to help. Yeah, we may stumble a couple of times but we’ll be there to pick each other up.

Curiosity

I firmly believe that you have the answers to your questions locked inside of you. My job isn’t to tell you what to do - it’s to help you get those answers out into the open. I do that by asking you powerful questions, exploring your relationship with the problem you’re trying to solve and helping you plan out actionable next steps toward your goal.

I won’t ever backseat drive but I also won’t ever let you drive the car off a cliff either.

How Do I Start?

First off, give yourself some credit. If you’ve read this far, you’ve already started as far as I’m concerned. The next step is to find the right coach for you. I hope that person is me, and we can have that conversation by booking a consultation with me. But if I’m not the coach for you, I promise I will connect you with another brilliant coach from my vast network. I’m here to help, even if that means sending you to someone who’s a better fit.

It’s also a good idea to think about what kind of coaching you need.

Types of Coaching

Career Development

Many people use coaching to help them navigate their career. Whether you’re in-between opportunities, feeling stuck in your current role, or wanting to take a big leap in your career, coaching can help you overcome obstacles and create a plan of action to get you to where you want to go professionally.

  • Resume Support

  • Goal Setting/Action Planning

Leadership Development

Leadership takes on all kinds of forms: business owners, managers, supervisors, mentors, you name it. No matter what kind of leader you are, it is incredibly difficult to lead others when you don’t really know how to lead yourself. Coaching can help you gain the self-awareness and empathy to help you become the leader you aspire to be.

Offered Services, in addition to coaching:

  • Training on leadership skills and frameworks

  • Access to proven leadership tools and methodologies

  • Scenario roleplaying

Skill Development

If there is a specific skill you’re trying to master, coaching can be a huge help. Even if your coach isn’t particularly skilled at what you’re trying to develop, they can help you with discipline, mastery, goal-setting and overcoming roadblocks. A lot of the time developing a skill is more than just being technically proficient - it’s also about accountability. Coaching can help with that.

My Specific Areas of Expertise:

  • Leadership Skills

  • Communication/Public Speaking

  • Change Management

  • Psychological Safety/Trust

  • Goal Setting

Personal Development

Maybe you’re just trying to, well, figure yourself out. Humans are complex and we’re changing and growing all the time! Talking to someone as you develop more and more into the person you want to be can be an invaluable asset in this journey.

Offered Services, in addition to coaching:

  • Individual Development Planning (IDP)

  • Meyers Briggs personality assessment (MBTI)

Mindfulness

Whether you’re trying to get better at minimizing distractions, meditation, breathing, or just being more present in general, coaching is a great tool. We can come up with some best practices to help you along your mindfulness journey (and maybe take some of these steps together, I’m always down to be more present myself).
